Potjie Competition Format
-
Team Composition: 1–4 members per team. When checking out, please list the legends in your potjie team. Tell us who's bringing the gees, whether it's your tjommie, your tjerrie or your laaitie - if they are part of the team, we want to know who to thank (or to blame).
-
Every team must have a Team Name, and the name must be visible to judges and other participants. Give your crew a name that strikes fear into onions, brings tears to tomatoes, or just makes us laugh. We need something we can yell dramatically during judging.
-
The participation fee of $50 includes the attendance ticket of the team organizer (1 attendance ticket). Every team will receive a goodie bag worth more than $100.
-
Cooking Time: Max 4 hours.
-
Table set-up: Each team is responsible for decorating their own table. Themes are encouraged but optional (eg. Decorate your station for the World Cup and dress your team in green and gold. Be creative.) Any corporate advertising material and promotional material is welcome at your station.
-
Every team will get an area of 10’ x 10’.
-
Fires must be made in a grill or burn barrel. No fires permitted on the grass.
-
Teams provide everything they need from start to finish.
